传统上看,当锂-二氧化碳电池放电时,会产生碳酸锂和碳,在充电过程中,碳酸锂会循环再利用,但是碳只会在催化剂上堆积,最终导致电池出现故障。UIC工程学院研究生兼论文第一作者Alireza Ahmadiparidari表示:“碳的堆积不仅妨碍了催化剂的活性位点,阻止二氧化碳的扩散,还会让电解质在充电过程中分解。”
